I started working with glass in Los Angeles, California in 1977. I did traditional stained glass windows for the first 10 years. I moved to Vermont in 1987 and developed a line of stained glass jewelry boxes that use bevels and textured glass along with colored water glass. I am in the process of phasing these out. They are currently available for sale exclusively at the Artisan's Hand in Montpelier, Vermont.
I bought a kiln in 1995 and started experimented with slumping and fusing. Nothing much inspired me until I discovered dichroic glass. That changed everything. I made cabochons and did sterling wire-wrapping for a few years and then a friend said the magic words.... " I wish these were beads" Well, what can I say. I love working with dichroic glass.
Each bead is unique, in that the glass never does exactly the same thing twice. I know, I have tried. I seem to be drawn to certain shapes and curves and a piece very often ends up a totally different shape than the one I had originally envisioned. The glass is in charge. I am just along for the ride.
Working with glass has added a dimension to my life that I did not know existed. There are times that I know without a doubt that I am not doing this, something else is in control. I have heard people talk about the creative spirit. I believe I have discovered mine and I am eternally grateful.
I have been under pressure from several customers to find a more current photo of myself. So here is one that was taken 2 years ago. I was at a conference in Toronto Canada with friends.

This next image is of my home and studio. It was taken in June
when all my wild lupines are blooming.

In the winter, when the leaves are off the trees, I have a wonderful
east view. Here is one of my favorite
sunrises. It is a great way to start the day.
